Left Behind

Abstract art is genius.
You say that life is boring without war?
I state fact, truth, and progress.
Free thought will challenge your bias.
You say balance means war and peace?
I say peace and progress, with a side of reason equals life.
These ideas are involuntary.
For imagine a history without oppression.
Without tyranny, massacres, and Hitler’s
Today, we would all be like Hawking!
These ideas are abstract.
Its genius, but futuristic
Therefore, I’m left behind.

It has been nearly three months since a forgetless memory.
But time resembles only yesterday.
Am I Faulkner’s heir, you ask?
No.  Only a gumdrop angel who wants to be found.
My focus wanes, but I shall continue.
You say your benefits are earned through blood.
I agree.  But ponder over sights you’ve dreamed of seeing without sorrow.
And imagine the beauty.
Too soon?  I have assumed.
Because I’m left behind.

Left behind!  Left behind!
The answer is the lover within the Rhine.
I have spoken to soon, but you know it’s true.
What’s mine is yours and yours is mine.
You deny, so I am left behind.
